under Properties window there is a button with a blue curve "line and nib style", select that, under "Line Thickness", it's a drop down with 8 types- select the one you want

some features to think about for stitchartist level 1:

include in preferences a section for user settings, that return each time the program is closed and reopened, ie., running stitch lengths, densities, underlays, etc.

edit: and, a tighter zoom feature, and more sensitive move capability

or, Use the grid to make your alignments after typing the lines separately.
