EE & Janome compatible?

Postby gmalydia » Wed Feb 15, 2012 5:08 pm

I am using Embrilliance for the first time and it's not as easy as it sounds... at least for me :D
I designed a letter file , saved it and dropped it in a USB Cruzer. When I look at it on my iMac the file is there but
when I insert it in my Janome 11000 there is nothing there. What am I doing wrong? Is this not going to work with my Janome?

I read another post that said to use the "save as" function which didn't work either. Have I just wasted my investment?

I don't have a Janome so I can only guess what the problem is. One - check that your file is the right size for your machine. If it is even slightly too big in any direction, it may not show. Two, the Mac files have a data and a resource fork, unlike the Windows files that machines expect to see. Instead of dragging your file to your flash drive, do a Save As from Embrilliance directly to your Flash drive. That should eliminate the extra Mac resource file. I just saw another post before submitting this. Make sure that when you do a save as, save directly to the Flash drive.

Go to the home page and send an E-mail directly to the company - Contact Us - Support. They usually will get right back to you.

Janome requires a particular folder structure on yourUSB stick and this structure varies depending the the Janome model.

This page: http://blog.tv-sewingcenter.com/janome/ ... ur-janome/

has the necessary folder structure information. Temecula Valley Sewing Center is to be complimented for creating such great resource.

Now an example: According to the page if yo have a MB-4 then you need a folder named EMB on the stick and in the EMB must be a folder named EMBF. Designs are then saved to the EMBF folder so the stick would be:

USBStick/EMB/EMBF/design.jef
Mac embroidery software "For The Rest Of Us!"
