Adding a Basting Box to a Design

Post by LisaSewBubbles » Thu Aug 08, 2013 8:35 am

A question was posted on another page regarding adhesive spray and adding a basting stitch to the design. If you use an adhesive spray to attach your fabric to the stabilizer, remember that "less is more" to avoid gumming needles and such.

You can add a basting stitch to the design so that the spray holds the fabric in place but the real holding is done by the basting to the stabilizer. This is a great way to use the correct stabilizer for a project!

How easy are the basting stitches to remove?
TIA

The basting stitches are long enough in length that they should come out rather easily. I clip the bobbin thread from underneath the design and poof - the whole top thread comes out.

Hope this helps!
