Microfiber stitchout problems

I’m trying to do a 4in design on microfiber towels. The border on the design is a ‘freestanding/quilt’ single type fill with lettering done in 2.5 mm satin columns. I’m working on a Pfaff creative 4.0. Design stitched out well enough on poly and regular terry, had a few breaks in the border area with a plush terry velour. Project advisor set to Terry, as it was as close as I could get. However, when I attempted the design on my customer’s microfiber towels, I get half a dozen or more thread breaks in the fill and lettering, then the rest of the design stitches out fine. Using medium wt tear-away, floating the towels and water soluble topper....what needle size and type might work better? I’ve tried regular 12 and 14, regular embroidery 11 and 14, gold top stitching in 12, and also tried 50 and 60 weight threads. I’ve switched from open to closed embroidery foot, adjusted tension and pressure, and still having the same problem. I’m at a loss here.
