Registration of software

New versions fix things and add features. This will document those changes. If you had a Feature Request and we have implemented it, we've moved the topic here for posterity.

Registration of software

Post by sandimacd » Fri Feb 04, 2011 8:21 pm

I tried BETA CIM then purchased, then upgraded then current BETA. I tried BETA Essentials, then purchased, then upgrade.
1. After installing each one I could not paste the Serial Number from the email of the purchased ones into the Serial Number pop up box. It needs to be hand typed. I tried both the Command +C, Command +V and the Edit Copy option (Edit paste is grayed out). I have vision problems with small fonts so having this feature would be so helpful.

2. The Registration form did not remember anything of my previous entries (auto-fill), not even the basic info like my name, email or dealer. I had to install and re-install twice due to a bad download (?),it kept going into non-response mode and generating Apple reports). It didn't matter if it was an update, I had to retype everything.

Other MAC programs I reinstall have been able to at least pre-fill/auto fill fields and then I just click on YES or OK, rather than type everything in again, especially if it is an upgrade to a current licensed product. Even if auto fill is not possible, could you at least get it down to a ZIP so that it pre-fills the city, state, and country? Also, it mandated a DEALER entry but I bought them all online, perhaps a drop down menu to include "online" site purchase?

Thanks for considering.

On a Mac, you have to right-click and paste in edit fields.

In Beta versions we were more strict. Current versions update and retain information.

It should be noted that CIM and Essentials are not from the same brand, so no user data would be available.
